In less than two weeks, the best American and European players will meet at Whistling Straits to compete in the Ryder Cup.

The American team having been announced a week ago by Steve Stricker, it was the turn of Padraig Harrington to announce its composition this Sunday evening.

Qualified by the automatic selection, nine players were already sure to represent Europe:

• John Rahm (Spain)
• Tommy Fleetwood (England)
• Tyrrell Hatton (England)
• Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland)
• Viktor Hovland (Norway)
• Paul Casey (England)
• Matthew Fitzpatrick (England)
• Lee Westwood (England)
• Bernd Wiesberger (Austria)

The Irish captain has chosen to complete his team his compatriot Shane Lowry, winner of The Open 2019. 

He then bet on two experienced and iconic Ryder Cup players: Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter.

A Ryder Cup player since 1999, the Spaniard is the record holder for points reported for Europe with 25,5 points.

The Englishman will play his seventh Ryder Cup. A real leader since the rise of Medinah in 2012, the Englishman is still undefeated in singles with five wins for a shared match. 

The team offered by Europe is an experienced team. Only three rookies will be to be seen on American soil: Bernd Wiesberger, Shane Lowry and Viktor Hovland. 

Lee Westwood will play his eleventh Ryder Cup and will be joined by five other English compatriots.

The last places were therefore awarded and won during the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. It was the American Billy Horschel who won with a score of -19, thanks to a final birdie made in cold blood with a given wedge stroke. He therefore wins one step ahead of the trio DONALDSON, CANTER, APHIBARNRAT.

Victor Perez finished 49th at -5 and unfortunately will not participate in this Ryder Cup.
