Minjee Lee's T2 at the LPGA Taiwan Swing Skirts - her third finalist in Asia this season - earned her two spots in the Rolex Women's World Rankings. She also secured second place at the HSBC Women's World Championship and Honda LPGA Thailand in the Asia Spring Swing. Lee has been in the top 10 worldwide since July 2018.

Caroline Masson's second place in Taiwan is her best result on the LPGA Tour this year, in addition to her fifth place at the Marathon Classic. 42nd place in the world rankings is her best result since the start of 2019, when she occupied 41st place. Masson was ignited shortly before the Solheim Cup, at the end of August, with three places in the top-10. She was seventh at the CP Women's Open and ninth at the Indy Women in Tech Championship, before placing second last week.

Carlota Ciganda leads the Aon Risk Reward Challenge at -0.841 and does not play this week at the TOTO Japan Classic. Only two players have a mathematical chance of catching Ciganda: Ariya Jutanugarn, who needs to score two eagles, and In-Kyung Kim, who needs a double-eagle, eagle. If neither of these scenarios happens, Ciganda will win the Aon Risk Reward Challengee and $ 1 million.

However, there have been some shuffles within the teams. For the Japan team, Momoko Ueda rose to 58th in the Rolex Women's World Rankings, overtaking Mamiko Higa who is 60th, to become their fourth player on the team. For the United States team, Brittany Altomare took second place. She is now 28th in the world ranking, ahead of Marina Alex who is 29th.
