The Ladies European Tour announces that German businessman Roland Specker has agreed to become an honorary member of the organization after nearly 12 years of service as a non-executive director on the Board of Directors.

Specker, who built and sold an investment and property advisory firm before serving on LET's board of directors since 2004-2016, has been involved in major strategic decision-making with his main focus being Solheim Cup.

Specker will become the first male LET member and the third overall, joining Louise Solheim, who was an honorary member in September 2011 in recognition of her contribution to the Tour as founder of the Solheim Cup and Helena Alterby Nordström, the President of LET from 2013 to 2016.

During Specker's service on the tour, he helped develop the Solheim Cup as the world's largest professional women's golf event, where teams from Europe and the United States compete every two years in an identical tournament. to the very successful Ryder Cup. He also had a personal influence in the filming of the tournament in 2015, which resulted in the first live broadcast of the golf on national television in the country.

The event received huge media and television coverage not only in Europe and the United States, but across the world. He also worked on the impressive bidding process for the Solheim Cup 2019, which Scotland won.

According to the LET Membership Rules, the Board of Directors is solely responsible for the invitation to honorary membership which may be awarded in recognition of excellent service to the Ladies European Tour or to the golf world in general. Honorary members are not full members and therefore there is no requirement to be a woman by birth.
