After a charge from the Woods and a series of eleven consecutive birdies, John Daly and his son managed to go for the victory by signing (them too) a card of 57 (-13). They won at -27 with two strokes ahead of the Woods and won the PNC Championship.

Le Tigre will not have disappointed us for its return to the fairways. On the occasion of this PNC Championship, Tiger Woods took over the competing clubs for the first time since his car accident in February. Associated with his son Charlie for this scramble tournament, the Woods were at the forefront from the start of the tournament.

With their ten birdies in the first round and a card of 62 (-10), the Woods are ranked 5th with three shots from the head. The best card of the first round is a 59 (-13) signed by Team Cink.

Thanks to this formula in Scrabble, the suspense was total at the start of the last round, ten teams standing in only three strokes.

Charlie and Tiger signed one of the finest laps in the history of the PNC Championship. They play 57 (-15), a little bit from the record. The Woods game was especially marked by the incredible series of eleven consecutive birdies from 7 to 17.

They got off the tee at 18 to -25, one stroke behind Team Daly, being on hole 17. The math was simple, Team Daly had a great chance of birdieing on the 18th, Charlie and Tiger therefore had to sign an eagle to secure the play-off. After a drive on the fairway, then an iron shot from Tiger ending his race at flag height but outside the green, they had to return the approach. Neither of them manage to chipin or return the return putt.

Team Woods will have no regrets as Johne Daly and his son sign a final birdie on the 18th to win at -27. They also return a card of 57 (-15).

Even if the fifteen-time winner in major would have preferred another outcome for this tournament, he knows where he comes from: "I'm just happy and grateful to be able to do that".

Matt Kuchar, Woods partner on Sunday, admitted that: "He has such speed on the starts… I was impressed with how he could hit the driver so far." "See how he manages to swing, I think he did the hard part of the job."

Even though seeing him walking around with a slight limp and making a few faces to pick up his tee brings back bad memories, the golfing world is happy to find their idol again, and amazed at the level of play produced only a few months after his accident. Although Tiger Woods has claimed to only play a small number of tournaments that he will carefully select, one can't help but be impatient for his return to the bigger tournaments.
