PIQ Sport intelligence, a French start-up pioneer in connected sports, announces the signing of a partnership agreement with CEA Tech, the department in charge of technological research at CEA.

This agreement will allow PIQ to continue in its research and development strategy by pushing the limits of artificial intelligence applied to sport even further. PIQ will thus be able to benefit from the technological power and experience of CEA, recognized as the most innovative public research organization in the world *.

This scientific and technological collaboration at the best world level will relate to 4 main fields:

  • Deep Learning: The objective will be to develop the learning algorithms of GAIA, the first Artificial Intelligence system for autonomous understanding of sports gestures created by PIQ teams, using the methods of Deep Learning in order to make GAIA smarter and more independent.
  • Data Crowdsourcing, i.e. the development of technologies linked to the exploitation of the millions of data collected from users.
  • Geolocation, especially indoors (indoor sports) where other technologies than GPS sensors must be developed.
  • Calibration of the fusion algorithms of the various sensors. PIQ created the fusion algorithms for these 13 axes of analysis.
