A few days before the Solheim Cup, which will be played on the Inverness Club course in Ohio, the best young players in the world are meeting for the PING Junior Solheim Cup at the Sylvania Golf & Country Club.

Two Frenchwomen will play for the European team: Constance Fouillet and Vairana Heck

Created in 2002, this tournament is a version of the Solheim Cup for golfers under the age of 18 (for this 2021 edition, these are players born in 2003 or after).

The PING Junior Solheim Cup follows the senior model: twelve young Europeans face twelve young Americans in singles and doubles matches.

The host golf course for this 11th edition of the PING Junior Solheim Cup is the Sylvania Golf & Country Club, which is also located in Ohio, 15 minutes from the golf course hosting the adult competition.

Under the captains of the Swedish Annika Sörenstam and the American Renee Powell, the 24 players first compete in doubles on the first day: in fourball in the morning then in foursomes in the afternoon.

The second and final day of competition will be the singles matches.

For this 2021 edition of this tournament between the United States and the old continent, we find two French in the ranks of the European team: Constance Fouillet and Vairana Heck.

The two players are linked for the two doubles by the Swedish captain.

Constance Fouillet, the youngest of our two French girls, is 15 years old (born 9/01/2006) and plays for the Freslonnière golf course near Rennes. Currently 10th French and 535th in the world in the WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking), she notably shone this summer at the European Girls' Team Championships by signing the two best strokes laps.

The ten times crowned captain in major tournament Annika Sörenstam also selected on July 26, Vairana Heck, player of Racing Club de France.

Aged 16 (born 04/04/2005) 22nd French, she ranks 303th in the WAGR. At the beginning of August, the French Ladies' championships were played. 9th after the two rounds of stroke, she finished vice-champion of France on the golf course of Belle Dune.

The two French representatives will be keen to bring back points for Team Europe, which has not won the trophy since 2007 on the Bastad golf course in Sweden.

Our two French women have ten other talented young players from all over Europe as teammates: the Danish Amalie Leth-Nissen, a German duo Paula Schulz-Hanßen and Helen Briem, two Spanish players Andrea Revuelta and Cayetana Fernandez, another pair Meja Örtengren and Nora Sundberg, both Swedish, Savannah De Bock from Belgium, Italian Francesca Fiorellini and finally Denisa Vodickova from Czech Republic.
