New Garmin fēnix 5 Plus: integrated mapping, Pulse Ox, contactless payment and musicMartin Resch, Outdoor Product Manager for the EMEA region: “We are very pleased to bring new features to our f Outdoornix series of GPS Outdoor watches. This series is not a replacement for the fēnix 5 series, but an evolution. We've added some of our most popular features like integrated mapping, music and contactless payment to each new model in the fēnix 5 Plus series. In addition, with the launch of the Pulse Ox function on the fēnix 5X Plus, our users can go above and beyond. "

fēnix 5 Plus, with integrated mapping

In addition to cardio on the wrist, all the multisport functions and the intelligent connectivity of the fēnix 5 models, each of the watches in the Plus series is also equipped with optimized map data for navigation and geolocation at a glance. For better readability of the data, all models now include a 1,2 'color screen, even the fēnix 5S Plus which is the smaller model in the series.

Launched for the first time on high-end Garmin bike GPS meters, the popular Trendline route generator uses data from Garmin Connect to define and categorize the best routes according to their popularity. The runners are then free to discover or not to discover these numerous courses according to their outings.

Pulse Ox: a new sensor for analyzing blood oxygen saturation

The fēnix 5X Plus model (only) is the first Garmin product equipped with a Pulse Ox sensor which analyzes the oxygen saturation of the blood. Useful for practicing activities at altitude safely, the user can take a break to raise the level of oxygen in his blood and judge his ability to adapt when the air becomes scarce, during a tedious ascent.

Multiple functions to support the user

The fēnix 5S Plus, fēnix 5 Plus and fēnix 5X Plus models now add rhythm to sports sessions, thanks to their storage capacity that can hold up to 500 musical titles. Best of all, Deezer users will be able to download offline playlists or transfer music directly from a computer. Once the selection is loaded, just connect your Bluethooth headphones and go train.

All models in the Plus series are also equipped with Garmin Pay, a contactless payment solution that allows you to leave your wallet at home, while giving you the opportunity to buy a coffee, a meal or any other purchase made during of the day.

In addition, the models in the fēnix 5 Plus series have many sophisticated training features that allow users to monitor their fitness and performance. They can indeed access physiological indicators, Running Dynamics (stride analysis) and other information to follow their training statistics, measure their progress, improve their technique and refine their silhouette. Training status automatically assesses recent training history to let users know if they are training too much, maintaining themselves, or not forcing enough.

Climbing effort management with ClimbPro

For the most ambitious athletes, the models of the fēnix 5 Plus series are equipped with the ClimbPro function, which allows runners and cyclists who wish to train in hilly regions to better analyze and adapt their effort during ascents. ClimbPro analyzes the altimetric profile of a course and detects all the corresponding climb sections. During his race, the athlete knows at all times how far the next climb is, as well as the level of difficulty of the latter. This function displays the average incline, the distance and the remaining slope to climb. Athletes can thus anticipate how to manage their effort.

Connected and customizable

The models in the fēnix 5 Plus series are compatible with Connect IQ, the platform that allows you to personalize each watch for free with widgets, data fields, wallpapers and applications. By pairing their watch with a compatible smartphone, users can receive call, text and email notifications right on their wrist. They can also customize the look of their watch in seconds using QuickFit straps. They just need to replace the silicone strap with a leather or titanium strap, without using any tools. New colors for QuickFit bracelets have been added to the Plus series, including lagoon blue, water green and bright orange.

Each fēnix 5 Plus watch is equipped with multi-network satellite reception, GPS, GLONASS and now the Galileo system.
