Whether in the shape of a rounded or wider half-mallet, or high-tech, with a high MOI (Moment of Inertia), the 2017 Futura family combines the best design elements of previous generations of the GOLO and Futura X range. , to Scotty Cameron's constant innovation in multi-material putter constructions. The result is a range of harmonious shapes and configurations approved by Tour players: Futura 5CB, 5MB, 5W and 5S; Futura 6M and 6M Dual Balance; and Futura 7M, with increased stability and forgiveness, improved alignment characteristics and excellent feel.

Multi-material technology, featuring a face-sole unit machined from 6061 aircraft aluminum alloy, and integrated with precision machined 303 stainless steel. The weight is deported to the rear and to the periphery, which allows for wider putter heads, with a very high MOI (resistance to rotation during ball contact). These high MOI multi-material designs combine with Scotty Cameron's balanced heel-toe balanced sole technology for increased stability and forgiveness - technology trusted by Tour players.

An integrated anti-vibration system connects the semi-machined face-sole unit to the stainless steel frame of each model, resulting in a feel that Scotty describes as "soft, but strong." "

Better alignment options including machined sight lines placed on top, dual function alignment system (5W, 5S, 6M, 7M) and new visual cues. The structure forms a rail with light lines that frame the ideal point of impact (sweetspot). A set that increases confidence at address.

The new Futura models can be recognized by their shape and size. A numbering system qualifies the latter: the higher the number, the wider the shape.

The Futura 5CB and Futura 5MB are stylish, they are half rounded mallet putters that combine decades of experience from Scotty in terms of aesthetics, namely that a putter "must blend in with the ground", with a multi-material technology for the face-sole block. The Futura 5CB (“Cavity Back”) has a black anodized 6061 aircraft aluminum alloy structure, and a single machined sight line placed on the top. The Futura 5MB (“Muscle Back”) has a refined rounded shape structure in 303 stainless steel with a Silver Mist finish and a simple machined line of sight.

The Futura 5W and Futura 5S have improved characteristics compared to the famous previous models Futura X5 and Futura X7M. The Futura 5W ("W" for "Wing") features the same shape as the Futura X5, but now has the full multi-material face-sole block and an improved dual alignment system. This system allows the ball to be framed and the ideal point of impact (sweet spot) to be aligned with the white lines placed on the rear structure parallel to each fin. The Futura 5S (“S” for “straight Shaft” - straight shaft) is a more compact and updated version of the Futura X7M with a straight shaft configuration inspired by remarks made by Tour players. It also has the dual alignment system.

Inspired by the exchanges between Scotty and Adam Scott, the Futura 6M ("M" for "ME") presents the best characteristics of high MOI of the first Futura X model, in conjunction with the modern cues of the Futura X7M, equipped with the stabilizer bar " bar back ”, weights placed at the toe and heel to offer the ultimate in forgiveness and resistance to rotation upon impact. A new Futura 6M Dual Balance model is also available for players who need maximum stability on impact. Like all Dual Balance models, the Futura 6M DB is weighed down by 50 grams at the head and 50 grams at the upper end of the neck to counterbalance.

The Futura 7M improves on the Futura X7M with finely shaped rear fins, including the stainless steel bar back structure that shifts weight behind the putter face to increase forgiveness . It also has the dual alignment system.

Each new Futura putter features an advanced stabilizing weighting system, thanks to two removable and interchangeable weights. These weights are made of stainless steel and placed in the sole. The new Futura putters are also equipped with straight steel shafts and flexible Black Matador Mid-size grips with red and gold accents (the Futura 6M DB is equipped with a 15 inch dual balance grip) designed to offer the comfort of a wider grip while preserving receptivity and touch.

The point of view of master craftsman Scotty Cameron

Scotty Cameron - Photo: DR

“This new line from Futura brings together my ideas for high-performance putter design and my long-held ideals that high technology should always be high quality. What we have come up with with our multi-material technology allows me to design heavier putter heads that are properly weighted to make the putter land better and to give players who prefer the mallet shape more confidence in their putts. Fans of the brand surely remember the first Futura, released ten years ago. The design of this putter was intended to be experimental at the time and, given its success, we have declined it in several versions. It is this dedication to making putters for the best players that motivates me to continue to innovate, experiment and push the limits of what we offer to all avid golfers. Much like motorsport, what we show on Sundays at professional tournaments around the world is reflected in every putter we bring to the market. The Futura name accredits the decades of design performance that my team and I bring to the high-tech putter market and it celebrates this early innovation that stands the test of time. ”
