After 3 laps tormented by thunderstorms and rain, the wind finally swept the clouds and it was therefore on a beautiful sunny day that the French and Belgian spectators who came in large numbers could fully enjoy the suspense of this 4rd turn.

Four players fought hard to successively take the lead of the leader board during the 18 holes: Duncan STEWART (Sco), Thomas DETRY (Bel), José-Filipe LIMA (Por) and Alessandro TADINI (Ita).

We had to wait for the 17th hole of the penultimate part to do battle and find out the winner of this 20th edition of the Najeti Open: the Portuguese from St Nom-la-Bretèche José-Filipe LIMA.

At 35, José-Filipe LIMA wins 12 years later, his second tournament in St Omer (winner of the 7th edition in 2004 under French nationality). With this fourth victory of his career on the Challenge Tour, he made a good in the order of merit from 110th to 10th place thanks to his gain of € 32.000 today. He said he was very moved at the awards ceremony “The week was great and the day even more. I worked very hard to get this victory. I had a very difficult time with my back and today I was in the swing, I played aggressive and it paid off, I thank God ”.

In second place, as in 2004 behind LIMA, we find the Italian Alessandro TADINI, author of the best score of the day 67 (-4). Alessandro was at the head of the leader board after 11 holes but his 2 successive bogeys at holes 12 and 13 cost him the victory! He finished 2 shots from the winner tied with the young Belgian Thomas DETRY.

For his second tournament as a professional (6th at the KPMG Trophy last week), Thomas DETRY, 23, said “I had a chance to win but I made a few small mistakes. I did not manage to get close enough to the holes to have a better chance of birdie but I am still satisfied with my week ".

â Best Frenchman: A second player from St Nom-la-Bretèche, Victor RIU, who finishes in 6th place at -5 by making a card in Par today. RIU has shown some consistency this week with only 6 bogeys in 4 rounds. "I'm a little frustrated, I hoped for better. I thought I could do well. It was not easy today with the wind but the results of this tournament are satisfactory because I had a difficult start to the season.

â Frenchman Matthieu PAVON takes the head of the Order of Merit of the Challenge Tour thanks to the gains of his 7th place today in St Omer. His compatriot Romain LANGASQUE retains his 4th place by finishing 17th in the Najeti Open.

The president of the Open, Jean-Jacques Durand, presented the trophy to the winner in the presence of the President of the French Golf Federation, Mr. Jean-Lou Charon. Unanimous thanks were sent to the whole team of gardeners who did an exceptional job given the particularly difficult weather conditions this year as well as to the 130 volunteer commissioners who showed great courage and patience during these 4 days .

RDV is taken for the 21st edition next year and again for the next 20 years in our presence said Jean-Lou Charon.
