Absent from the golf courses since the beginning of February, Phil Mickelson should make his return during the PGA Championship, being the defending champion. Lefty would also like to return to an event organized by the circuit of Greg Norman. The American left-hander therefore asked the PGA Tour for its agreement to play the Liv Golf Invitational in London.

What will be Woods and Mickelson's next tournament?

Three weeks before the second major of the season, the PGA Championship, many questions arise about the presence of Tiger Woods, as well as Phil Mickelson, defending champion.

The two champions are currently on the entry list but have not yet confirmed their presence. Phil Mickelson and his staff are, however, "out of silence" for the first time since Lefty's apology post on the networks. Like other PGA Tour players, Phil would like to take part in the Liv Golf Invitational organized in London by the circuit of Greg Norman. This event will be played from June 9 to 11, and players wishing to participate had to make a request to the American authorities 45 days before the start of the tournament.

Lefty still in turmoil?

Although this request to play a Greg Norman league event has been made, his staff says: “Phil currently has no concrete plan of when and where he will play; he wants to keep all possible options”.

Strongly criticized for some months, Mickelson was defended by Jon Rahm. The former Spanish world number 1 is a friend of Lefty, his brother Tim Mickelson was Rahm's agent when he debuted on the PGA Tour: “Mickelson gave his life for golf. He gave his life to the public, nobody signed more autographs than him, nobody gave more than him to the fans”.
Jon Rahm had previously said after the altercations between Lefty and the PGA Tour that: "I don't know why he said what he said, but all I can say is that I support him as a friend, even if I don't agree with everything he says".

Other Major winners present in London?

Other players have applied to the PGA Tour to be able to participate in the London tournament. This would represent fifteen players from the world's top 100. Even if the names of the players remain confidential, rumors are circulating about the possible presence of Sergio Garcia as well as Louis Oosthuizen, two former major winners.

The deadline set by the PGA Tour having been reached, the names of players engaged in London should soon be known.
