Michelle Wie, former muse of women's golf, unlocked her counter in Major mode this Sunday, winning with two strokes ahead of her compatriot Stacy Lewis, freshly crowned with the coveted title of first world player.

The 24-year-old American returned a 70 (-2) card at the end of the last round, thanks in particular to a successful eagle on hole No. 10.

“There were times when I doubted, the loved ones around me have always believed in me. It's amazing, I don't realize it happened! ” commented the champion.

The native of Honolulu, remained in command from the first to the last round, the only participant to play under par for the entire tournament.
Crowned for a second time this season, after the Lotte Championship in April, Wie became a professional at the age of 15 after dominating among amateurs.
