Callaway Golf Company (NYSE: ELY) announced today that Francesco Molinari, defending champion of The Open and winner of the 2018 Race to Dubai, has joined its professional team on the Tour.

Francesco Molinari will make his Callaway tournament debut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational on the PGA Tour. A full line of Callaway gear will be in their bag for the event, including a Sub Zero Epic Flash Sub Zero driver, Sub Zero Epic Flash Sub Zero fairway wood, MB 18 Apex irons, Mack Daddy 4 wedges, a Toulon Madison putter with the new Stroke Lab shaft and a Chrome X Soft ball.

"I join Callaway because I am very impressed with their equipment"said Molinari. “More than anything, I can't wait to play with the new Flash Driver Epic and the Chrome Soft X golf ball. The ball speed gains I get from the driver are incredible. And this golf ball is the best I have ever played. The performance from tee to green, especially feel and control, exactly meets my expectations. "

Originally from Turin, Italy, Francesco Molinari is coming off a remarkable 2018 season, marked by his first major victory at The Open Championship. He won the BMW PGA Championship and the Quicken Loans National last year, and he posted a perfect 5-0 record for the winning European team at the 2018 Ryder Cup, capping an astounding season by winning the European Tour's Race to Dubai. He enters this week as the 10th player in the world.

"We are very proud to welcome another big European winner to #TeamCallaway, joining Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson and Danny Willett" said Neil Howie, CEO of Callaway and President of Callaway Golf EMEA “Francesco tested equipment from different manufacturers over the winter break, so we are very happy to see the incredible results Francesco has achieved by choosing Callaway and Odyssey products. If the improvement in his performance in testing is any indication of what is to come, 2019 will be another exceptional season for one of Europe's top golfers. Welcome to the team, Frankie. "
