After being two and a half hours late in the morning due to the risk of thunderstorms, the first round of the Alstom Open de France was finally interrupted in the evening following a new weather disturbance. Fourteen games could not be finished, and will therefore come back on Friday morning to finish.

Germany's Max Kieffer was alone in the lead at -4 at the time of the interruption, with four holes remaining to be negotiated. Author of six birdies against a double bogey, he was suddenly ahead of a group of five players. We find among them the French Victor Dubuisson, the Austrian Bernd Wiesberger and the South African Jaco Van Zyl, who returned cards of 68 (-3), as well as the Spaniard Rafael Cabrera-Bello and the Australian Andrew Dodt, who has one hole left to play.

Grégory Bourdy, alone in the lead when arriving at the start of the 18th, conceded a double bogey on the last hole to fall to -2, in seventh position. “I have a certain taste for something incomplete. As we know, this course does not forgive the slightest mistake and I had the bitter experience at the end. The consolation is all the same to have played under par, ”he said.

The game will resume Friday at 7:30 a.m. for the forty-two players who have not completed their first round. The departures of the second round remain unchanged: kick-off also scheduled for 7:30 a.m.
