Max Homa leader of the Genesis Invitational
Defending champion, Max Homa returns to the Riviera Country Club with the firm intention of keeping his trophy: he is the leader after two laps with a total of -10. Homa is slightly ahead of the trio made up of Jon Rahm (ESP), Lee Hodges (USA) and Keith Mitchell (USA). The day could not end this Friday, interrupted by the night, Tiger Woods is at the limit of the Cut, 60th at +1 and hopes to be present this weekend.
What a field of players this week on the Riviera Country Club course! Like every year, almost all of the world's top 50 responded to this Genesis Invitational, as well as a certain 15-time major winner: Tiger Woods. This return to the Riviera is the first appearance of the Tiger in an official tournament since the last The Open played in Saint-Andrews.
After two rounds of golf on the difficult Californian course, it is none other than defending champion Max Homa who dominates the debates. With a first card of 64 (-7) then a second lap completed in 68 (-3), the American leader is at -10 and has a lead over the trio Jon Rahm (ESP), Lee Hodges (USA) and Keith Mitchell (USA).

Collin Morikawa is also at the forefront, two shots behind Homa, at -8.
Rory McIlroy, freshly defeated from his status as world number 1 last week by Scottie Scheffler, ranks 7th at -6. the Northern Irishman signs a first card of 67 (-4) then a 69 (-2).
The world number 1 is not far away, since he is positioned in 12th place at -4.
This Friday, the tour could not be completely completed since some parts were interrupted by the night. The golf world holds its breath, hoping to see Tiger Woods make the Cut.

The Tiger made us dream on Thursday, ending its day with three consecutive birdies on its last three holes to sign a card of 69 (-2). Unfortunately in golf, the days go by and are not alike. Starting from 10, Tiger signs three bogeys on his last four holes (6,8 and 9) and scores 74 (+3). He is temporarily within the Cut limit at +1 while waiting for the results of the last players on the course.
The weekend awaits with a star-studded leaderboard @TheGenesisInv.
