The young autistic Vincent HELLY nevertheless finished with 1 point in advance in the general classification in front of Mathieu CAUNEAU, but the European medical commission not having noted any obvious problem of balance in the gesture of golf during the 2 days of competition decided to switch it into a “mental and sensory” category rather than disqualifying it outright.

Nino Ourabah, Captain of the France Handigolf team, said “We understand the confusion that this decision can cause. A meeting with the sport and medical committees must be organized as a matter of urgency in order to change the statutes and set up new processes ”.

Le Jean-Claude Bavaria Trophy, awarded to the best French player in Gross, in memory of the first president of the Handigolf commission to the federation, is therefore awarded to Mathieu CAUNEAU (n ° 1 European Handigolf 2014).

Mathieu CAUNEAU, winner of the 2014 French Handigolf Open, had come to Saint-Omer to defend his title. He left happy with the title of Champion of France for the second consecutive year.
