The Augusta National Golf Club said yesterday it had identified November 9-15 as a possible date to reschedule the next Masters.

The Augusta National had already postponed the Masters due to the new coronavirus epidemic but had not rescheduled the first major of the year.

The first game round was scheduled to start on Thursday.

"As more details are shared in the weeks and months to come, we, like all of you, will continue to focus on all of the mandatory precautions and guidelines for fighting coronavirus"Augusta National said in a statement.

Earlier Monday, the R&A announced that the 149th Open Championship scheduled for Royal St George's from July 16 to 19 had been canceled due to the pandemic.
