In the world of golf, green doesn't just represent the putting zone, because there is a lot of money to be made on the professional golf circuit. But only one agent associated with the PGA Tour managed to make an appearance on Forbes' list of the world's top sports agents in 2020, which was released on Tuesday.

For years, Mark Steinberg has prided himself on having an array of golf stars to his credit, including Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas and Justin Rose. He is a partner at Excel Sports Management, which Forbes ranks third among value agencies.

According to Forbes, Mark Steinberg has a total of 35 clients and contracts worth more than $ 101 million.

A caveat is in order: according to the article, contract earnings are counted for team sports athletes; the gains from sponsorship contracts are not. For golf (and tennis), agents do not take commissions on their clients' earnings at championships, but only on the marketing money they help generate and for which they receive 20% on average.

This means that this is not exactly a benchmarking measure, since the agents who represent golfers are measured by these marketing numbers and not by tournament earnings.

Other agents who stand out on this list include Scott Boras, who tops the rankings with $ 3 billion traded for his clients, a 2% jump from 30, Rich Paul, who s 's ninth on the list with a host of basketball stars, as well as rapper Jay-Z, who sits 2019th with $ 9 million in commissions on $ 27 billion in contracts.
