Indeed, Malaysia today has more than 200 golf courses open all year round.

These courses wind at the foot of the mountains, along the beaches, on tropical islands, in the middle of a green nature or in the heart of cities. So there are not 40 courses in Kuala Lumpur and its surroundings. Some courses have been designed by the biggest names in golf from Jack Niklaus to Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman. In Malaysia at a time of cooler temperatures, it is pleasant to practice golf by night and day.

In 2013, golf tourism generated RM 300 million in revenue (almost € 70 million). This year, the country expects to reach RM 310 million (€ 72 million).

At the same time, Els Club Teluk Datai in Langkawi was awarded the “World's Best New Golf Course”. Opened in October 2014 on the island of Langkawi, and designed by Ernie Els, the South African champion, the 18-hole course (Par 7) runs through a century-old tropical forest on the shores of the Andaman Sea, with the peaks of the Mat Chinchang mountain range.
