The only major women's golf in continental Europe celebrates its 20 years, from September 11 to 14, 2014 in Evian, France.

20140514_Evian_01The greatest golfers in the world were crowned at Evian on the tournament launched, 20 years ago, by Antoine Riboud. Since 1994, the event has been hoisted on the highest steps of world golf. Renamed The Evian Championship, it entered the very closed circuit of the 5 Major tournaments of the women's world golf tour last year. Franck Riboud has always retained this long-term vision for this tournament and has positioned it as a benchmark in terms of sport, receptiveness and worldwide distribution.

In constant evolution, The Evian Championship organizes in June its first qualifying event upstream of the tournament with the objective of giving the opportunity to two players to enter this plateau of the most prestigious in the world and to try their luck. The only Major ever organized in continental Europe, The Evian Championship is strategically positioned at the end of the season and, for the first time in the history of world golf, will crown with the LPGA and Rolex, on the occasion of the Rolex Annika Major Award, the most efficient and regular player on all the Major.

“Our status, more than ever, requires us to question more, to challenge, to demand, to demand, to be responsible and to commit to continue innovating and inventing to write the future with enthusiasm, especially as we let's celebrate our 20 years! "

Franck Riboud - President of The Evian Championship - President and CEO of Danone.

The Evian Championship will welcome from September 11 to 14 the 120 best golfers in the World.
