Blue Green, tournament organizer, is pleased to announce its partnership with Cordon Electronics, now a major sponsor of the 2nd professional golf tournament in France. The only Breton stage of the European Challenge Tour, the Cordon Golf Open will welcome more than 150 international professional players from September 3 to 6, 2015 on the Blue Green Pléneuf-Val-André golf course, in Côtes d'Armor, Brittany.

Cordon Electronics, a new impetus for the dynamics of the Open

Leader in the maintenance of telecommunications terminals in France, Cordon Electronics opens up great prospects for the event. This title partnership will allow the Open, in particular, to register over time. Indeed, the Breton group perpetuates the tournament until the Ryder Cup (major world sport event, which will take place in France in 2018).

“We are very proud to welcome Serge Cordon and his company to our side for the Open. For us, a Breton entrepreneur who becomes a major partner of the only stage of the Challenge Tour in Brittany is particularly meaningful, ”underlines Gaëtan Maëtz, Director of Operations and Development at Blue Green. Already involved in the development of the territory, with its various trades, the company Cordon Electronics affirms its desire to be part of the animation and the promotion of the image of Brittany.

The atmosphere of a large professional tournament with free access

For 4 days, the public will rub shoulders with the players and discover the atmosphere of a professional tournament in the heart of an exceptional setting, where the magnificent landscapes of wild moors dominate the sea. The elite of the circuit will be present because all the points are good to take at the end of the season. Spectators can therefore expect great sporting performances.

To make this sport known to as many people as possible, access is free. Promoter and organizer of the tournament, the Blue Green golf chain places this approach in its desire to develop, promote and democratize golf.

Cordon Golf Team, players to the highest level

The arrival of Cordon Electronics on the Challenge Tour is a natural consequence of the creation, in 2013, of the Cordon Golf Team. Composed of 5 professional golfers - Sébastien Gros, Damien Perrier, Xavier Poncelet, Michael Lorenzo-Vera and Christophe Brazillier - the team is already playing on the European Tour, the Challenge Tour and the Alps Tour. Supervised by Benoît Teilleria, the professionals already have some great victories to their credit.

A great mobilization around the Open

Selected by the PGA European Tour and the French Golf Federation for the quality of the course, the Pléneuf-Val-André stage has become a “classic” on the professional circuit. Support from private and institutional partners, in particular the Brittany Region, the Côtes d'Armor Department and the town of Pléneuf-Val-André, the involvement of the organizers, the site team and the mobilization of more than 200 volunteers with the sports association of the Club also supported the authorities in their choice.

An economic and tourist vector for an entire region, the event attracts more than 5 spectators, not to mention the players, guides and technical staff who revolve around the Challenge Tour.

This year, more than ever, less than a year before the entry of golf to the disciplines of the Rio Olympic Games, the Cordon Golf Open promises a great sporting and human adventure made of passion and commitment.

A sporting event not to be missed!
