Captains Thomas Bjørn and Jim Furyk have unveiled their first groups for the opening session of the 2018 Ryder Cup, which started this morning at 08:10 am at the Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.

During the opening ceremony on Thursday evening, the two captains announced the groups that will participate in the Friday morning competition in Fourballs.

In the first game, Brooks Koepka, who has won three major championships in the past 15 months, will team up with rookie Tony Finau and the American duo will face Englishman Justin Rose and Spanish rookie Jon Rahm.

Dane Thorbjørn Olesen will also make his Ryder Cup debut in the second game. He will be the partner of the Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy against the current world number one, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler.

Paul Casey will represent Europe for the first time in ten years in the third game and will be joined by his compatriot, rookie Tyrrell Hatton. They will face Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, another who will make his first Ryder Cup appearance tomorrow.

In the last game of the morning, the 4th game, Tiger Woods returned to the Ryder Cup for the first time since 2012 alongside Patrick Reed. The duo faces Italian Francesco Molinari and English rookie Tommy Fleetwood, who triumphed at the 2017 HNA French Open.

The second competition of the 2018 Ryder Cup, in Foursomes, will start at 13:50 p.m. Paris time.
