Céline Boutier was not lacking in composure under the tropical torrential rains which fell throughout the day, signing a very solid 67 (-5) at the end of the third round of the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville,

Three months after claiming her first Ladies European Tour title at the Sanya Ladies Open in China, at -11 under par, the 24-year-old Parisian from Montrouge takes a serious option on victory with a five-stroke lead in the last lap in front of the leader halfway, the English Holly Clyburn and four other chasers with 6 strokes.

Boutier quickly caught up with Clyburn in the lead with a birdie on the first hole at Bonville Golf Resort against a bogey.

While the other players struggled against the pouring rain, the player from Montrouge remained unperturbed and made a series of birdies on the fourth, seventh and ninth holes,

"My caddy (the Irish Shane codd, ndlr) helped me stay dry, which is essential when it rains so much, because when everything is wet it quickly becomes very complicated, she added.. I just tried to stay focused on the present moment, playing each move one after the other. I saved some good ones by when the rain was at its worst, my game remained very strong today. I am delighted with the way I handled the course.

Clyburn, who started the day with a two-stroke lead, was disappointed with his third lap 74, which included a double bogey at 15 but stays away from a second LET title.

Cleethorpes said: “It has been a long day. Celine played fantastically. I didn't think she would release a 67 under these conditions. It was his day. I don't think I've ever experienced rain like this and then, all of a sudden, so hot at the same time. I said to myself that the course was well designed considering the amount of rain that fell ”.

Holmqvist also had a tough competitor. Five years ago, she used a golf tee to remove the venom of a black widow spider bite from her ankle halfway through an Australian Open qualifying match at Royal Canberra, which earned her the nickname "Spider-woman." Despite this, she still loves Australia and said it would be a dream to become a winner of the first edition of the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville.
