The only amateur to win the national championship twice - and the youngest to start - imposed her signature on a flawless final with a 67 card to fulfill a dream she has had since joining the ranks of the pros in 2007.

“I am absolutely ecstatic. I knew I had to play really well today and that's what I did. I felt really focused all day and got all the shots I needed and had some good putts “ said Buhai, who finished 9 under par.

“It doesn't matter what country you come from, you want to win your national title. Having won it twice as an amateur was a little crazy, because the first time I won it I was 14 years old. The older you get, the more you realize what it means to you and to ultimately earn it as a professional I am really happy. "

Stacy Bregman also had reason to rejoice when she hit a magnificent bunker struck 1 meter away and made the par in the 18th, which sealed the Sunshine Ladies Tour Investec Property Fund Order of Merit.

Bregman, who won the season opener at the Canon Tshwane Open, also finished with a card of 67 to take fourth place at 3 under par.

She said: “I didn't have the best start of the week which was a shame but I stood out today and wanted to do well. I knew I had nothing to lose and to finish the path I have come, it teaches me a lot about myself, that I have what it takes in times like this. «

Florentyna Parker, triple LET winner, finished fifth. The English golfer signed a last lap of 70 to finish at 2 sous par.

The last prize-giving trophy went to South African Lindi Coetzee. The 18-year-old enthusiast used the experience she gained playing with professionals at five Sunshine Ladies Tour tournaments to win the Jackie Mercer Trophy as a top amateur in this year's jointly sanctioned national open. by the WPGA, the Sunshine Ladies Tour and the Ladies European Tour.
