Aditi Ashok a foolproof mind

Hailing from Bangalore, India Ashok Aditi started the final day at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club with a two-stroke lead and looked perfectly serene and solid to face this final round.

Despite a bogey on the fifth hole, the 19-year-old Indian player showed great mastery as she birdied six over the next 11 holes to keep a four-stroke lead with three holes remaining.

Then, without understanding why she conceded four putts (double bogey) on the last par 3 to 17, reducing her lead to just one stroke over England's Georgia Hall.

A par at the 72nd hole was enough to repel the assaults of the Briton. The Swedish Camille Lennhart and the American Cheyenne Woods complete the podium. Lee-Anne Pace, who led the first two laps, sank in the 27 rd square. Céline Boutier, the best Frenchwoman, finished with a very honorable 11th place (-11). Justine Dreher 30th with a last card of 67. Céline Herbin conceded a difficult 74 on Saturday to finish 38th (-6). Valentine Derrey remained at the end of the ranking above par (59th, +3).

His Excellency Aref Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), owner of the event, said: “We would like to thank Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak - Mother of the Nation, President of the General Federation of Women Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation and Chairperson of the Supreme Motherhood and Childhood Council, for her continued efforts to ensure excellence for ladies in all sports and to make Abu Dhabi a global sports destination for them.
