Céline Boutier and Alexandre Lévy were crowned Golfer and Golfer of the Year 2018 last night on the occasion of the fourth edition of the Golf Trophies. More than 300 people gathered for this ceremony organized in the prestigious setting of the Pavillon d'Armenonville and broadcast live on Golf +.

Céline Boutier and Alexander Lévy were chosen by a jury chaired by Gwladys Nocera, a great tri-color champion recently retired from the greens (European and Amateur World champion, n ° 1 European among the proettes in 2008). The general public also mobilized in numbers for this operation since more than 4 votes were recorded on the website of the event and its partners.

Performance, innovation and development at the heart of the Golf Trophy awards

The jury also chose to reward nine other categories. Victor Pérez won the Bluegreen Hope Trophy of the year after his final podium in the Challenge Tour ranking. The Performance Trophy went to Astrid Vayson de Pradenne for his victory at Evian at the Jabra Ladies Open. The new Handigolf Trophy was awarded to Charles-Henri Quélin.

Pascal Grizot, President of the 2018 Ryder Cup Commission, receives the Special Jury Prize from Thomas Bjorn, Trophy of Honor 2018. The Stadium Concept has also been awarded the new Innovation Trophy. The Golf Hôtel de Mont Griffon won the Journal du Golf Trophy of the year, after being selected from application files according to a dozen criteria related to the development of the practice in particular.

The Beachcomber Golf Cup in the spotlight

2018 saw the birth of a new competition, the Beachcomber Golf Cup, en route to Mauritius, the first amateur golf competition in six-hole matchplay. The Golf Trophies were an opportunity to reward the duo of the Golf du Médoc, winner of the Super Final disputed in Mauritius.

The general public mobilized

Each year, the general public agrees to vote for the Golfer of the Year. And since two editions of the Trophies, it also has the possibility of designating the Coup of the year. Four strokes were proposed by the jury. The general public has chosen to honor Alexander Lévy, who won this prize thanks to his hole-in-one at the Dubai Tournament earlier this year.

Céline Boutier, 2018 golfer of the year:

“I am very happy to have been voted Golfer of the Year for the second year in a row. It is an honor to receive this distinction and I would like to thank the jury and the public for their support during this year. "

Alexander Lévy, golfer of the year 2018:

“I am once again delighted and honored to be rewarded by the great golf family. My year 2018 was intense. After winning the Hassan II Trophy earlier this year, I experienced a more complicated period in June and July. I am very happy to finish again in the top 30 of the Race without losing sight of my 2019 goal…. shine in the Majors! "
