For 10 days and 10 nights, the Festival Interceltique de Lorient offers 200 concerts and receives the greatest artists and the best groups from the rock, folk and traditional scene from all over the Celtic planet. The 2014 edition celebrates Ireland - cradle of Celtic traditions - the opportunity to discover in Lorient a large panel of Gaelic culture: music, dances, literature and visual arts. For its twentieth anniversary, the Golfs of Val Queven and Ocean Ploemeur are taking advantage of this great gathering of Celtic peoples to organize a competition over several days, from Saturday 2 to Tuesday 5 August. This competition will take place in an exceptional setting offering a panoramic view of the coast and the wooded green of hundred-year-old trees of Quéven. Participation in this competition will be possible upon prior registration, provided that you were born, work or be a licensed amateur in one of the countries of the Celtic Nations or historic Brittany.

Gouren tournament
This sport, whose name means "wrestling" in Breton, requires both great strength and a lot of skill. The principle is simple: as soon as one of the wrestlers finds himself on the ground, the game stops, victory will go to the one who manages to make touch his two shoulders on the ground. To win a tournament, you must win three consecutive fights without a rest period and whatever the weight category of the opponent. Of Celtic origin, brought to Armorica, the Gouren was the game which allowed the Bretons to measure their strength and their address during popular festivals. In full revival, the Gouren has kept its character of play and become a modern sport.

Saturday, August 9
From 13 p.m. to 30 p.m. at the Quai de la Bretagne
