“I played very well. I hit better irons today than I had in a long time, but my putter didn't really cooperate on a few holes and it made my heart ache. I played well, made a few good length putts and everything was pretty stable,” Stark said.

“I am happy for Meghan. I just wish I hadn't done that double bogey on the 13th hole. I feel good, I'm excited and I want to go play some more. No double next week.

England's Hannah Burke set the fastest lap of the day with a 65 (-7) to move up to third place shared with Argentina's Magdalena Simmermacher and Spain's Carmen Alonso, with a score of 7 under par. .

Australian amateurs Justice Bosio and Sarah Hammett finished in sixth place with scores of 68 and 69 respectively.
