The Touquet Golf Resort renovation program concerned the La Mer course, but also the clubhouse and Le Manoir Hotel. Thus, the large classic course designed by Colt & Alison in 1931 has regained its former splendor, a new club house with innovative and contemporary architecture has opened and the Manor has been transformed into an elegant boutique hotel also in a contemporary style.

"The renovation has revived holes in the historic Colt-Alison route with a rare attention to detail which testifies to the passion that exists around this course," said the members of the Golf Inc jury about La Mer.

The architects Harry Colt and Charles Hugh Alison had designed the route for La Mer when Le Touquet was the most popular seaside resort in Europe and a resort much sought after by the rich and famous. However, the course had been severely damaged during the Second World War and parts of the route lost for decades.

The unexpected discovery, in 2011, of aerial photographs dating from the 30s and an old surveyor's map of the site enabled architects Patrice Boissonnas and Frank Pont to reconstruct the four holes taken up by the dunes.

The quality of the restoration of the La Mer course quickly gained international recognition, as evidenced by the unprecedented rise of 35 places in the ranking of the 100 best courses in continental Europe established by the British magazine Golf World.

The new clubhouse, a new construction inaugurated in 2016, has seven pyramid roofs in sand-colored wood of the new clubhouse, which reflect the colors and contours of the wild dune landscape. Its glass walls allow light to enter a chic and modern interior which houses a restaurant, a bar and a leading pro-shop.

The renovation of the resort hotel - Le Manoir -, voted best golf hotel in France in 2017 and 2018 by Today's Golfer magazine, also impressed the jurors of Golf Inc. As part of its repositioning as a boutique hotel, the he establishment has an elegant restaurant, reception, lounge and bar completely redesigned.

The jurors added about the Touquet Golf Resort: “The renovation of the course was accompanied by very relevant agronomic work. In general, the quality of the evolution of the installations testifies to the owner's commitment over the long term ”.

Le Touquet Golf Resort offers 45 exceptional holes of golf in a natural landscape of sand dunes, pine forests and clear skies. Located less than 2 hours by car from Paris and an hour's drive from the Eurotunnel terminus in Calais via the A30, the Touquet Golf Resort is easily accessible for golfers from Great Britain, Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as the rest of France. A country which, when it comes to hosting the Ryder Cup, can only be proud of being able to offer its visitors such a wonderful golfing journey through time.
