The LPGA has announced that the 2021 Swinging Skirts, originally scheduled for October 28-31 at the Miramar Golf Country Club in New Taipei City, has been canceled once again due to current travel and border restrictions, as well as concerns. current health concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are grateful to Swinging Skirts, Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, GAROC and IMG for their continued support and efforts in trying to bring the 2021 tournament to a successful conclusion", the LPGA also said in the statement. "The LPGA Tour and Swinging Skirts remain committed to returning the event to the 2022 Tour calendar."

A field of 60 women will still compete in the Olympic women's golf competition in Tokyo next week. The LPGA has just organized its fourth major tournament of the year, the Amundi Evian Championship, in Switzerland. The ISPS Handa World Invitational is being played this week in Northern Ireland and will be followed by tournaments in Scotland over the next two weeks before the tour returns to the United States.
