From August 2 to 3, 2014, the 7th edition of the Georges Mauduit Challenge takes place. For the occasion, 10 prestigious golf courses are committed alongside the French League against Multiple Sclerosis through a sporting, friendly and charitable competition. The Challenge will take place at the Méribel golf course on August 2 and 3.

20140610_LigueSEP_GeorgeMauduitThe formula retained for this competition is that of the "scramble for two", the participants will have to pay a green fee of 25 € minimum per person and can make a donation to the French League against Multiple Sclerosis (donation giving right to a tax deduction according to the legislation in force). Players outside the club will pay the applicable green fee at the time of the competition.

Georges Mauduit, vice-world champion in giant slalom in 1966, launched a golf challenge seven years ago, in memory of three friends who were international ski champions suffering from multiple sclerosis: “When I left my home in 19 years old with my sports bag on my back, everything has been done to promote a sports career and an extraordinarily rich and thrilling man's life. Happy retiree, it is normal that I give back to society all that it has given me during these years, hence this commitment to fight against multiple sclerosis ”. Georges Mauduit is the only former athlete to have given his name to a charity competition. He will be present on all the golf courses participating in the challenge.

1 competition, 10 cities, 7 months of challenge

From April 26 to October 12, 2014, ten golf courses open their greens to everyone for a friendly competition, intended to raise funds for the benefit of research on multiple sclerosis. The challenge also makes it possible to sensitize all participants to this disease and to change the view of the general public on a pathology still too little publicized.

Green fees and individual donations are donated to the French League against Multiple Sclerosis for its research and patient support activities. Last year, a few tens of thousands of euros were thus collected to help finance the three research projects on MS symptoms, as well as the organization of support groups for patients. Genzyme, a Sanofi group company engaged in multiple sclerosis research, supports the League in all competitions.
