For at least six years, Chevron USA Inc. will become the title sponsor of a major LPGA Tour tournament, formerly known as ANA Inspiration or Kraft Nabisco Championship. The first effect of this change of sponsor will be to considerably increase the endowment from $ 3,1 million to $ 5 million.

However, for the first time in 40 years, the 2023 edition will not take place on the Mission Hills golf course but on a golf course in Texas, near Houston.

As a reminder, this tournament resulted in the last victory of a Frenchwoman in a major: Patricia Meunier-Lebouc in 2003.

Questioned following his shoulder injury, world number 1 Nelly Korda also reacted to this change in the venue of the tournament.

The 23-year-old played a lot of tournaments during the summer, she played three majors including the KPMG WOMEN'S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP which she won, she then won gold at the Tokyo games and then participated in the 17th edition. of the Solheim Cup, an edition lost by the United States.

All these trips and tournaments have tired him, especially because of the tension and pressure felt during the struggles for victory.

She admits that she needed this break and enjoyed this rest for three weeks.

Regarding the change of partner and Chebron's initiative, Nelly Korda says it's a good thing for the progress of women's golf.

Slightly disappointed with the change of venue for the tournament, she explains that she was attached to the golf traditions of Mission Hills Country Club. Despite everything, she thanks the Chevron company for the increase in staffing as well as the support it brings to women's golf.

The 2022 edition will take place on the golf course of the Mission Hills Country Club, for the last time. The tournament will take place from March 31 to April 3 where Thailand's Patty Tavatanakit will defend her title.
