In the next five years, the multiple major international sporting events (GESI) hosted in France, at the forefront of which is Eurobasket 2015, Euro 2016 and all recurring sporting events such as Roland Garros or the Tour de France will be a showcase of French excellence in this area. In this regard, the global GESI market, which represents nearly 50 billion euros per year, constitutes a major development opportunity.

The growth in world sport demand, particularly in emerging countries, also opens up very significant export opportunities for French companies, both in terms of equipment and the supply of services.

In order to support this dynamic and the French bid for the Olympic Games 2024, the ministers Emmanuel Macron, Patrick Kanner, Thierry Braillard and Matthias Fekl decided to set up a strategic committee for the sector. Its animation was entrusted to Olivier Ginon, president of GL Events, European leader of the events, which will be charged, at the head of the CSF Sport to propose, before the end of the year, a strategic contract of sector containing proposals to develop the strengths of French companies in the sports economy.
