Artis returned a card of 66 (-6), to finish with two strokes ahead of Norway's Suzann Pettersen, despite the windy conditions and drizzle that did not spare the players at Links Dundonald in North Ayrshire.
The Englishwoman Houx Clyburn two strokes behind took third place ahead of the Czech Klara Spilkova and the New Zealander, Lydia Ko, world number two.
“Sometimes you fight your whole life trying to get that first victory and there are also times when the second is even more difficult,” said Artis,
The 26-year-old Australian from Coonabarabran won her first title under similar conditions at the Helsingborg Open in Sweden two years ago when she came back from five strokes behind Caroline Hedwall with a final card of 69.
“My game has been in place since the start of the year, I knew that the conditions announced for today would allow me to keep a solid game maybe to be well placed at the finish.
“I thank my coaches from here and Australia, Gary and Luc Edwin. They were able to take me to a new level of confidence in all areas of the game ”.

“I was playing pretty well today, I had my chances, but the 16 bogey cost me dearly. Artis with his beautiful card of 66, deserved the victory “, underlined Pettersen.

Ko was quite happy with her 74 and said: “I think it was good preparation for the Ricoh Women's British Open which is coming up. I don't know what the weather will have in store for us next week, the important thing for me is to consolidate my game by playing on links, it's really a great experience! "
With her career best performance for fourth place, Klara Spilkova was one of three players to secure an invitation to the Ricoh Ladies British Open which will be played next week in Turnberry, with Hannah Burke, who finished sixth and Jade. Schaeffer, for his 14 rd instead.

On the French side, good performances from Gwladys Nocera, Jade Schaeffer and Sophie Giquel-Bettan, who are respectively in 8th, 14th and 17th position.
Céline Herbin and Isabelle Boineau finish further in the ranking.
Alexandra Vilatte, Marion Ricordeau and Caroline Afonso did not pass the cut.

Artis had already qualified for the Ricoh Women's British Open, her parents, who are currently traveling the world to see her play at the British Open, will have a nice surprise when they arrive.

In the meantime, Artis has received a bonus of € 75, a nice way to celebrate her victory a day after her 000st birthday with her husband Geoff, who is her full-time junior.
