Le Golf Du Medoc, flagship of golfing heritage

After six editions played at the Golf de Chantaco in Saint-Jean-de-Luz (64), the Lacoste Ladies Open de France takes up residence this year at the Golf du Médoc Resort, located in Pian-Médoc (33) a few kilometers from Bordeaux . For its 28th edition, the national women's open will be contested for the very first time on the prestigious Châteaux course, one of the jewels of France's golfing heritage, host of numerous national and international events in the past, including the Men's French Open in 1999. This course designed by American architect Bill Coore was ranked best course in France by the World Golf Awards last year - as well as in 2014 and 2016.

A first-rate field: 1 winners of a LET tournament, 11 nationalities

For golf fans, this will therefore be an opportunity to admire the best players of the Ladies European Tour (LET), the European women's circuit to which the tournament has been attached since its creation in 1987. In the list of entries, which was unveiled on Wednesday 22 August, we find in particular the names of former winners such as Beth Allen (USA, victorious in 2016), Céline Herbin (France, 2015), Azahara Muñoz (Spain, 2013 and 2014). Also to be continued, on the French side, no less than eighteen players (to date, knowing that seven invitations remain to be awarded) including Céline Boutier, current French number 2 and twice titled on the LET; Camille Chevalier, crowned in India last fall and elected “Rookie of the Year” in 2017; or Joanna Klatten, player of the American circuit in the same way as Boutier and Herbin. Also at the start are Justine Dreher and Manon Mollé, recent silver medalists at the European Team Championships in Scotland in early August.

Clinic and autograph session: Saturday September 8

The players sponsored by Lacoste, title sponsor of the event, will finally offer the public a demonstration of their talent clubs in hand on Saturday 8 September at 17 p.m. Hosted by Patricia Meunier-Lebouc, the last Frenchwoman to win a Grand Slam (at the Kraft Nabisco Championship 2003) and ambassador of the crocodile brand, this Clinic Lacoste will be followed by an autograph session.
