The 27th edition of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France 2017 started with a difficult time this morning in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. In the three-way duel of this first day between the Americans Cristie Kerr, Beth Allen and the Spanish Azahara Munoz, it is the first who sent a strong message to her competitors. The three stars of the Ladies European Tour started this morning at 9:56 am, in the drizzle of the Basque Country. This probably did not bother the American star Cristie Kerr who very quickly took the lead in the tournament. She beat her opponents of the day Munoz and Allen by eight and nine strokes with a respective score of 68 and 69.

In the standings of this first day, the American is in the lead by three strokes, followed closely by the French Justine Dreher and Camille Chevalier who achieved a score of 65, or five strokes under par. Also note the good performance of the Dutch Anne Van Dam, the Spanish Patricia Sanz Barrio and the Finnish Ursula Wikstrom who also achieved a score of 65. These six players are therefore placed in second position on the eve of the second. round, which will likely be argued in the rain.
