First Major of the season initially scheduled for early April, the ANA Inspiration will finally be played in mid-September. Three other LPGA Tour tournaments scheduled for April have been postponed indefinitely.

ANA Inspiration

It was to be held from April 2 to 5, in Mission Hills, California. The first Major of the season, the ANA Inspiration, will finally take place from September 10 to 13, the LPGA has just announced, thus delaying the Cambia Portland Classic in Oregon by one week. The other three events scheduled for April - the Lotte Championship in Hawaii, the Hugel-Air Premia LA Open in Los Angeles and the Mediheal Championship in California - are also postponed, to a date not yet determined.

“We tried to wait as long as possible before postponing these tournaments, said Mike Whan, the boss of the LPGA, in a letter to the players. Unfortunately, the global Covid-19 pandemic and travel restrictions make organizing a tournament neither possible nor prudent. (…) Potentially, all our tournaments are concerned, given the situation. The only option right now is to reschedule our events as much as possible, hoping that the situation will improve quickly. Believe me, patience is not my first quality and the situation is difficult for me too. "

The last event of the LPGA circuit took place in mid-February, during the Australian Open, with a top 10 for the French Perrine Delacour (3e) and Céline Boutier (6e). The next tournament on the calendar is now the Pelican Championship in Florida, from May 14 to 17, 2020.
