With 23 victories to date, at 50, Jiménez broke the record for the oldest winner of the European Tour by winning the Spanish Open in May 2014. He broke the same record defending himself successfully at the Hong Kong Open for the fourth time in December 2013. Miguel Jiménez considers his four appearances at the Ryder Cup as highlights of his career.

Born in a modest environment in Malaga, Spain, the fifth of seven brothers, Miguel Jiménez left school at the age of fifteen and worked in a garage. He then worked at the Torrequebrada Golf Club, near Malaga in Spain, where he collected golf balls on the course as a caddy. After observing his idol Steve Ballesteros at the Spanish Open in Torrequebrada in 1979, Jiménez had the idea to start playing for himself, becoming a professional in 1982.

2014 was a successful year for Miguel Jiménez with three victories - in Hong Kong, Spain, and during his first time in the Champions Tour in the United States, during the Greater Gwinnett Championship. In 2015, he will split his time between the European Tour and the Champions Tour, where he obtained his first victory of the year at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hualalai, Hawaii. He is currently 72nd in the world ranking and 29th in the Race to Dubai of the European Tour.

In 2012, Jiménez created the Miguel Ángel Jiménez Junior Circuit in Spain, to give children aged 7 to 18 the opportunity to play in a series of tournaments against other children of the same age group. The Junior Circuit is divided into several age categories for boys and girls. In 2014, 13 different tournaments took place across Spain, with up to 120 children competing for each of them. The winners of each category accumulate points for the final ranking and those with the most points will play in the final in December in Malaga. The Junior Circuit is now an official partner of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation.

Miguel Jiménez also designs golf courses which are considered beautiful and complex. Among his recent projects: the Prosper Golf Resort in Celadna, Ostrava, in the Czech Republic and the Naco Golf & Country Club in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

Formerly nicknamed "The Mechanic", many consider him today as the most interesting golfer to follow, with his relaxed attitude and his usual Cohiba Siglo VI or Partagas Serie EN ° 2 cigars.

Several pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses will be added to his unique style, including Sugarbeach, Frigate glasses and classic Aviator glasses called Mavericks. "What matters to me is enjoying life and playing golf," he says. "So, I only work with products that improve my vision of the game correctly. When I had the opportunity to try Maui Jim glasses, I was impressed by the clarity of the glasses and their ability to improve what I see on the ground. The color is amazing, which makes the game more rewarding, whether I win or lose. But I'm here to win! "

“Miguel embodies everything the brand stands for - to be competitive, to be the best, but to enjoy life along the way,” comments John Romaine, Global Director Golf & Tennis at Maui Jim. “He has an incredible work ethic, but he's a generous and energetic person. We look forward to working with him on his projects, and to counting among his sponsors for what we hope will be a colorful season. "
