The Jaguar Classic Type-E Reborn program offers potential customers the opportunity to purchase an original Type-E from the manufacturer. The Type-E Reborn is a first for Jaguar and follows the success of the Land Rover Series I and Range Rover Classic, which will also be presented at Essen.

Each Reborn Type-E is based on a vehicle spotted by Jaguar Type-E experts. It is then completely restored to the factory specifications of the 60s. The unique access to the manufacturing archives and original drawings held by the Jaguar Heritage Trust, and the decades of experience of the restoration team, guarantee the absolute authenticity of the final vehicle. Jaguar Classic parts, used at all stages, optimize the quality of the vehicles and their longevity.

Tim Hannig, Director Jaguar Land Rover Classic, comments: “The launch of the Type-E Reborn program is very motivating for Jaguar Classic. The Type-E is the most iconic sports car of all time; we are therefore delighted to revive carefully selected copies so that connoisseurs can become their owners. The resources and information available to Jaguar Classic experts is second to none; the restorations are therefore as authentic as possible. "

The first Type-E Reborn is a series 1 Coupé 4,2 in Opalescent Gunmetal Gray. Exported to California in May 1965, the car had traveled 124.800 km before being stored in 1983. It retained its chassis, engine and gearbox numbers, all of which were completely rebuilt by Jaguar Classic technicians.

The original vehicle is preserved or restored to exact specifications; the parts are replaced by new elements from Jaguar Classic Parts. The body panels, which have benefited from the Jaguar Classic reverse engineering program, are fitted, if necessary in the event of corrosion and to ensure that the emblematic silhouette of the Type-E benefits from the best possible finish. The attention to detail goes so far as to recreate original spot welding when assembling the body panels.

Depending on the wishes of the customers, it is possible for the more recent Type-E to integrate into the restoration process, improvements such as a more efficient cooling (using parts derived from the Type-E Lightweight) , a fully synchronized gearbox (if the vehicle is not fitted with original equipment), or Series 2 front brake calipers.

Vehicle prices for the Type-E Reborn program vary according to specifications, from £ 285.000 (€ 333.000)

The Jaguar Type-E, launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, was an immediate success. Its sensational line and its maximum speed of 240km / h became benchmarks in terms of automotive performance in the 60s. It was the most emblematic sports car of its generation. It enjoyed such popularity that it attracted stars such as Steve McQueen, George Best, Sir Jackie Stewart, Brigitte Bardot and Frank Sinatra. The racing models were driven by drivers such as Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Roy Salvadori and Briggs Cunningham. More than 56 years after its debut, the Type-E remains an exceptional road and sports car. Jaguar Classic is the world's leading supplier of authentic parts and experiences behind the wheel of the Type-E.

Type-E and art Type-E enthusiasts will also be able to discover at the Techno-Classica Show in Essen the new presentation of 'Jaguar Bonnet Art': Type-E hoods as "works of art" to hang on the wall. Unique colors, badges, stripes and designs can be made to order. Prices from £ 8000 (£ 9400).
