American Andy Ogletree becomes the first double International Series winner in Qatar following his win this week and his Asian Tour win at the International Series Egypt in November 2022.

Andy Ogletree claimed a three-stroke win at the inaugural International Series in Qatar.
The result marks a second professional victory for the prodigious 24-year-old talent who claimed his first Asian Tour victory at the International Series Egypt in November 2022.

He stated : «I'm super happy to be the champion here, it's unbelievable! What a great test we had this week. It was really tough, the course got really firm and fast so I'm super proud to win a golf tournament playing like that."

Ogletree followed his first two rounds, both at 71, with a clear 66 on Saturday, to take a five-stroke lead going into the final day of play.

In response to the question of whether he was comfortable in this position, thee native of Mississippi said : «I worked very hard in the off-season, after Egypt and I have a lot of confidence in myself because I work so hard. I think nobody wants it more than me, I want to keep giving myself more opportunities and this is the course where I can do that.”

Battling the prevailing winds throughout the final day of play, Ogletree birdied on the 4th and 18th holes, finishing with a total of seven under par. His victory puts him at the top of the order of merits of the Asian Tour and the International Series.

Maintaining his status on the latter will allow the American to qualify to play in the ultra-lucrative LIV Golf League.

The fastest lap of the day was achieved by Ogletree's compatriot, Jarin Todd, who was last at the start of the weekend and who, with a lap of 65, moved up 13 places in the standings.
A trio of Thai talents consisting of Gunn Charoenkul, Suradit Yongcharoenchai and Phachara Khongwatmai finished second, third and fourth respectively, while Japan's Hideto Tanihara and Malaysia's Ben Leong tied for fifth.
