It is indeed, within the confines of the brand new National Sports Museum, itself located in the Allianz Riviera Stadium in Nice, that it is imperative to go to discover the most beautiful pieces of the couture collections, dedicated to sport. !

Thus, more than 400 pieces from museums and prestigious private collections, will be at the heart of the Museum's temporary exhibition to take a look at the evolution of fashion through sport over time. The idea is to understand how sports have influenced fashion - from outfits to accessories - ranging from a popular dimension to the most elite spheres.

In sport mode: the history of sport and the history of fashion have never been so close

We discover during the "fashion week 2014", that the most talented creators appropriate the theme of sport! Karl Lagerfeld, the Pope of fashion, or even Alexandre Vauthier, the brand new member of the select Syndicat de la Haute Couture, played on this phenomenon which marks the 21st century.

Sport has entered the cities, along the streets, alleys, in shop windows. It is current, trendy, chic, sportwear. It is technical, connected… It has become one of the symbols of happiness and it is sexy!

This exhibition "En mode sport", will retrace the intimate history of these two phenomena from 1880 to 2015, through a sports and technical approach, a cultural approach (historical, social or artistic), competitions, media, stars, marketing and advertising ...

Finally, Nice has displayed for a few years a marked policy around sport.

Its chic Promenade des Anglais, trodden by both elegant clienteles since the end of the 19th century, and experienced athletes, is today the scene of some of the most beautiful sporting events, thus reforming the “fashion and sport” couple. Thus, EN MODE SPORT will be an exhibition associated with all the Museums of Nice as part of “Nice 2015, Promenades des Anglais”.
