The Ladies European Tour appointed Helen Alfredsson as President and LET player representative and Mark Lichtenhein as Chairman of the Board of Directors effective December 11, 2016.

Helen Alfredsson will be the Ladies European Tour Ambassador and will work closely with the CEO, President and the Players Council to promote the organization, acting as a bridge between the Council and the Members.

A life member of LET, Helen joined the Tour in 1989 and competed in 25 seasons before retiring from competition in 2013 at the Helsingborg Open in her native Sweden. During her career as a player, she racked up 21 world victories, including a major: 1993 Nabisco Dinah Shore, as well as her first victory at the Women's British Open 1990 and three Evian Masters titles.

Helen has competed in eight Solheim Cups, including the inaugural competition in 1990 and made her last appearance in 2009, having captained the 2007 European squad at Halmstad.

As Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mark Lichtenhein will be responsible for the development of the Tour and its international business activities. He brought considerable business experience to the role, having worked for the PGA European Tour for 16 years, during which time he played a pivotal role in the delivery of the European Tour's global television product, including the Ryder Cup, to all international markets. Mark worked closely with the organization on a number of projects before joining the LET Board of Directors in December 2015. Mark is also the current Chair of the Sports Rights Coalition (SROC).

Mark Lichtenhein said: “It is a great privilege to be elected President of LET at this exciting time for women's golf, especially given the unique position of golf as the only Olympic sport that Europe plays as a team. I look forward to working closely with the Board of Directors and Tour leaders to take advantage of the opportunities available to us. "
