After the first round of this second major of the season, it is the American Mina Harigae who takes the lead of the event. Still without a win on the LPGA Tour, the Solheim Cup player returns to the clubhouse with nine birdies for two bogeys and therefore a card of 64 (-7). She was able to rely on excellent driving during this first day with 100% of fairways hit and above all, an average of 24 putts!

She is closely followed by a Swedish amateur player, Ingrid Lindblad, who signs a card of 65 (-6).

Minjee Lee, Anna Nordqvist and Ryann O'Toole complete the podium at -4.

World number 1 Jin Young Ko ranks 8th in this first round. She returns a card of 69 (-2) with three birdies for a bogey. The leader of the Rolex ranking could have scored better with additional success in putting: she takes 15 greens in regulation but makes 31 putts.

Lydia Ko, third player in the world, scores above par during this first day. She returns a card of 72 (+1), she is 47th.

Michelle Wie West is one shot behind the New Zealander in 67th place at +2.
