The English Georgia Hall has good reasons to celebrate this end of the year. After receiving the Order of Merit from LET, she received the Player of the Year award at a sumptuous awards dinner that followed the OMEGA Dubai Ladies Classic.

The 21-year-old from Dorset won the Order of Merit with a gain of € 368.934,60 from 10 tournaments and was presented with a beautiful diamond-encrusted OMEGA watch and a check for € 20.000.

Hall recorded seven top-10s on the LET in 2017, including two on the European Major Championships. Her season started strongly with a tied third place at the World Ladies Championship in China and a tied fourth place at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco. She then finished tied for ninth at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open and then shared 3rd place at the Ricoh Women's British Open at Kingsbarns Golf Links, making her the European rising star.

Her debut as a Rookie at the Solheim Cup, where she played in all five games, proved her rank on the world stage, with performances broadcast to more than 530 million homes and watched by 124.426 spectators at Des Moines Country Club in Iowa.

She then placed tied for 10th at the 5th major, the Evian Championship in France, before finishing 4th at the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de España Femenino and 2nd at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open in Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on her season, she said: “It was a long year and I am happy to receive this award. I think I played well this year and had very good results. It has been one of my goals since the start of the year and I can't believe it. The Solheim Cup was a big thing for me and finishing 3rd at the British Open was huge. Then second in Abu Dhabi, I loved this place, it was great to go back and now it's the best moment of my career, receiving the Order of Merit. "
