The fēnix 3 has many training functions for running, cycling, swimming, triathlon and skiing:

• In swimming pools or in open water, the user can control the number of lengths completed, the pace and the type of swim.
• In "Ski / Board" mode, the user has a descent counter which records speed, distance traveled and elevation
• Associated with a heart rate monitor³, the fēnix 3 watch is able to estimate the VO2 MAX (maximum oxygen consumption in L / min) to assess the user's fitness and calculate a prediction of the running time. It can also calculate and indicate the necessary rest time after each session.
• Associated with the HRM-Run belt^™, it makes it possible to analyze the quality of the stride, to control and record its running parameters linked to cadence, vertical oscillation and time of contact with the ground (Running Dynamics).

A fully customizable model thanks to Garmin's open platform, Connect IQ

Connect IQ is the first open platform for third-party developers who want to create apps for Garmin products. The Connect IQ app store allows you to download personalized apps, widgets, data fields and wallpapers that will allow you to personalize the fēnix 3 according to your wishes.

Coupled with the Garmin Connect Mobile application, it offers the possibility of staying connected during its activities. Connected to the Garmin Connect community site, it allows you to launch a LiveTrack session to share in real time, with family and friends, the progress of the training or race. It is therefore particularly useful for analyzing one's performance after exercise.
