The Stars of Mougins, a unique festival!

For the thirteenth year in a row, Mougins is hosting, in the heart of its medieval village and in the open air, one of the biggest Rendezvous for Chefs and the General Public. A pioneering international event, which today stands out in the landscape of multiple gastronomic events. An event that allows everyone to meet the greatest Chefs in the world, to share their recipes, their secrets, their passion. All in the atmosphere of a perched village overlooking the beaches of Cannes, the City of Festivals and the hinterland of Grasse, the capital of perfumes.

From the Lycée Hôtelier to Meilleur Ouvrier de France

Philippe Etchebest is from the South West, more precisely the Basque Country. He has been living in Bordeaux since 1978. The Etchebest family ran “Le Chipiron”, a Basque specialty restaurant, in the Cours de l'Yser district. Philippe Etchebest studied in Bordeaux at the Lycée Hôtelier de Talence, then left to tour the major houses of France to perfect his knowledge of the profession. After several experiences that enrich his CV, he decides to return to his region. First stop, in 1995 in Saint Emilion, at the Château Grand Barrail where he prepared and obtained in 2000 the coveted title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France.

A media career

Then he undertakes a new challenge, that of running an establishment alone. It is therefore in the Dordogne that he sets down his suitcases, at the Château des Reynats. He will stay there for more than 2 years. He then won his first star in the Michelin Guide. His last challenge as Chief Director led him to the Hostellerie de Plaisance, in Saint Emilion, where he spent 10 years. He will leave Saint Emilion in December 2013. He is crowned with a 2nd star. He then began a media career in 2011 and took part in the program “Cauchemar en cuisine”, a program in which he helped restaurateurs in difficulty. There followed the programs "Top Chef", "Objectif Top Chef", as well as other broadcasts for the channels of the M6 ​​group.

A new challenge!

On September 8, 2015, Philippe Etchebest launched a new challenge: He opened his restaurant Le Quatrième Mur and set himself a goal: to transcribe an obsession with quality in simpler, more convivial dishes to delight the greatest number, in a sumptuous setting. , housed inside the Opéra National de Bordeaux. Last July, it is within the kitchens of the Fourth Wall that the Chef unveils 'THE' Table d'hôtes: a gourmet table where he goes beyond the standards to find haute cuisine.
