With a final lap at (-5), Parker came four strokes behind Solheim Cup players Anna Nordqvist and Carlota Ciganda at the Terramar Golf Club in Sitges.

Ciganda, who was playing at home, was knocked out at the first play-off hole after missing his birdie putt 2 yards from the flag, but Parker and Nordqvist continued after hitting theirs at similar distances.

On the second and third extra holes, Parker and Nordqvist followed each other to score, but the world No.114 was able to overcome the World No.10 with a birdie putt of 0.90 meters.

“I knew I had to win. I know I am not going to be chosen for the Solheim Cup, so I know I have to be admitted automatically. I think today I proved that I can play against the best, so I'm really happy " said Parker, 27.

“I don't remember how many times I played the 18th hole, but I think I had a few birdies today so it was fantastic and I still can't believe it. You are against the best players in the world, they are from the LPGA and it's so good to beat them! I was fine towards the end and I knew the green by heart, so I knew he was going to come in. Fortunately, she missed it! "

Nordqvist is disappointed, but felt her putting had let her down. She said: “I started with two bogeys this morning and I didn't mark everything. I struggled hard. After that, I played really well. I missed a lot of putts, but it was difficult. I birdieed 18 to get 15 under Par and Carlota gave us a chance by missing his 18th birdie in the play-off. The second just bounced back so I was disappointed then thought I had the last putt in the 18th and I don't know how it didn't come in. Florentyna hit him three feet on the last hole and she was lucky. Congratulations to her. "

Despite finishing third, Ciganda received a welcome like a champion. Thinking about her last round, she said: “It's just golf and I'm happy with the way I played, hitting the last holes four times. It was a good lap and I knew I had to birdie at the 18th to win. I hit the putt as I wanted, but a little too hard. I have to keep learning and keep playing. It was a good week and I wanted to thank all the fans, because I really felt their support. Life is Beautiful! "

A final lap in 69 (-2) allowed Karine Icher to grab the top 10 of the Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open this Sunday near Barcelona. The Frenchwoman is ranked 8th at -10.
