The great Norwegian champion, Suzann Pettersen, alias "Tutta" loves when she returns to her country to enjoy the midnight sun on the course of the Lofoten Islands in northern Norway. A magical and unforgettable experience, whatever your level of golf.

Suzann Pettersen, alias “Tutta” for close friends, has been one of the best golfers in the world for several seasons. The current world number 2 who won in 2013 at the Evian Championship but also with the European team during the last Solheim Cup.
By winning the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship for the second time in a row, the Norwegian was recently invited by United States President Barack Obama for a friendly match. The first thing the Norwegian beauty does when she finally gets home is a jog on the trails of Nordmarka, the forest that surrounds Oslo, near her childhood home in the north of the city.
For some time now, she has also taken great pleasure in playing on the Lofoten golf Links, under the soft midnight sun, when she is passing through the archipelago. So much so that she has accepted to become the ambassador of this golf course at the end of the world, which recently went from 9 to 18 holes and which already has a small house and three apartments at the club house for the accommodation of golfers, before the upcoming opening of a hotel. But above all, from mid-May to early August it is possible to golf around the clock and play, if you can keep yourself awake, 24 holes in just one clock turn!
“Most surprisingly, the way the land is naturally placed in the landscape, and the fact that you can play golf under the midnight sun. It's completely different from the more technical courses in the United States. This land, by the sea, is a unique experience in itself ”explains Suzann Pettersen. The proximity of the ocean, the steep peaks of the Lofotens and the constantly changing arctic light add an additional dimension to golf games. Few lots are located in such a magnificent natural setting.

Influence of the Gulf Stream

Another place, another atmosphere: Suzann also appreciates the Borre Golfbane, on the outskirts of Horten, also well placed at the crossroads between nature and culture, because it is close to the Semb Herregård manor; as well as the Randsfjorden Golfpark. "When I play in the north of Norway, I am often fascinated by the light in constant movement, the atmosphere and the raw nature which seems to offer the four seasons in one day" if she enthusiastically.

With 185 courses for 122 golf license holders registered in Norway out of a population of five million, golf is the third most popular sport in Norway, after football and skiing.
Thanks to the warm current of the Gulf Stream, the Lofoten Islands enjoy a much milder climate than other parts of the world located at the same latitude (68 ° north latitude), such as Alaska and Greenland. The Lofoten benefit from an oceanic climate, the winters are mild with an average temperature of -1 ° C and the summers with an average temperature of 12 ° C relatively cool, which makes this archipelago a land blessed by the Gods of golf.
