After several weeks of speculation, the list of players taking part in the Liv Golf International Series is known. Even if certain names were predictable like Graeme McDowell or Ian Poulter, other players created the surprise, particularly Dustin Johnson former world number 1 and double winner in major.

After long weeks of rumors, threats, announcement of future sanctions, the players going to take part in the Liv Series are finally known.

It is recalled that Greg Norman and Liv Investments aim to create a new circuit offering new solutions to the best players in the world. This project was not well received by the bodies in place for many years, namely the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.

Some players were expected to join these new league tournaments, but some names came as a surprise. Among the current list of players appearing at the London tournament, there are three players from the world top 50 and nine players from the top 100. There are also six major winners.

As announced a few weeks earlier, Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter will be part of the adventure in London. The names of these three Ryder Cup players have been circulating a lot in recent weeks and it is therefore not a surprise to find them on this famous list. Sergio Garcia and Martin Kaymer will also be there.

Other renowned players have also been announced: Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen and Bernd Wiesberger.

The biggest surprise of this announcement is the participation of the former world number 1, two-time major winner and counting 24 victories on the PGA Tour, Dustin Johnson.

This surprise is all the greater since the player born in South Carolina had dismissed the rumors of this rallying to Greg Norman earlier in the season, affirming his support for the PGA Tour.

It would not be because Dustin Johnson will participate in the London tournament scheduled at the same time as the RBC Canadian Open. Sanctions from the PGA Tour could arrive as its sponsor RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) has already cracked down. Sponsor for many years of the American, RBC announced to stop this collaboration with the double winner of major. Headlining the tournament in Canada, the announcement that Dustin Johnson will not participate in the tournament is a real loss for this sponsor.
