One week away from The Open, we find the Scottish Open as every year, which this year has become a symbol of the collaboration between the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour. The tournament is now called the Genesis Scottish Open and is sanctioned by both circuits for the first time in its history. Nine of the ten best players in the world will be present at the Renaissance Club.

The last major of the season, historic edition of The Open is fast approaching and the best players in the world will meet this week in Scotland for the Genesis Scottish Open. Often noted in the calendar of the best players in the world, to start their preparation for The Open, the Scottish Open offers a strong field of players each year.

This year 2022 has been marked by the strengthening of the alliance between the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, one of the important axes being this tournament, co-sanctioned by the two circuits. The Renaissance Club, host of the tournament for a few years now (2019) will welcome nine of the ten best players in the world. Only Rory McIlroy (2nd) will not be present during this week.

The Genesis Scottish Open, co-sanctioned by the two rounds will therefore offer points for the FedEx Cup ranking as well as for the Race to Dubai ranking. The tournament is also stamped Rolex Series, and therefore offers a larger prize pool than regular tournaments. The last tickets for the 150th The Open will also be up for grabs at this Scottish Open.

It was Min Woo Lee who won the tournament last year. The tournament will once again feature a prize pool of $8.

Four French people will be at the start of the event:

  • Victor Perez
  • Antoine Rozner
  • Matthieu pavon
  • Julien warrior

The last French victory dates back to the victory of Gregory Havret in 2007, at the time on the Loch Lomond Golf Club in Glasgow. Thomas Levet had also won in Scotland, three years earlier in 2004.
