Moly-Sabata, the oldest working artist's residence in France, founded in 1927 by the couple of patron artists Albert Gleizes & Juliette Roche, now owned by the Albert Gleizes Foundation, is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.

On this occasion, she presents from September 16 to October 29, 2017 an exhibition entitled En crue, curated by Patrice Béghain & Joël Riff, bringing together works from different mediums by Caroline Achaintre, Thomas Bayrle, Geneviève de Cissey, Anne Dangar , Charlotte Denamur, Lucie Deveyle, Famechon Carlin, Gilka Geoffray-Beclu, Josephine Halvorson, Jean-Claude Libert, Robert Pouyaud, and Romain Vicari.

The Flood exhibition culminates a season of anniversary events. Open on the river, the house offers a stroll through nine decades imbued with a strong commitment to the contemporary, in its time. Both living and historical aspects are developed in the same energy, enthusiastic about an equivalence between the past signatures which have fueled the Cubist heritage and the current ones which will produce specific works in residence. Rather than a museum retrospective, it will be about affirming the vigor of a place of hospitality, through the sensitivity of a selection of paintings, ceramics, installations, textiles and performances, which mark the landscape in which the place fits.

Moly-Sabata is an artists' residence providing its workshops and resources all year round. It is distinguished by the diversity of its reception methods, its action at the heart of a regional network of institutional partners and its initiatives in favor of the production of works thanks to specific funding. Its public influence is fueled by an annual exhibition while perpetuating a tradition of transmission that has been anchored since 1927 in this place of hospitality, located on an island south of Lyon. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the Department of Isère and the Community of Communes of the Pays Roussillonnais support the Albert Gleizes Foundation for its residency program in Moly-Sabata.
